Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to an accessible product and how to reach us.

Our target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target: we do not claim every success criterion is met, because automated checks find only part of the barriers people meet, and no person using assistive technology has reviewed the site or the app yet. If anything blocks you, email us with “Accessibility” in the subject.

Our Goal

We want everyone to be able to use this website and the Instica app, including people who use a keyboard only, a screen reader, zoom or high-contrast settings. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. The app's own accessibility statement describes how the product is tested.

What We're Doing

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Skip-to-main-content link on every page
  • Keyboard navigability for all interactive elements
  • Text and background colours from a fixed set of design tokens chosen for contrast
  • Automated axe-core checks in a real browser on every content page of this site, which fail the build on a violation
  • Reduced-motion support via prefers-reduced-motion media queries
  • Alt text on all meaningful images
  • Focus indicators on all focusable elements

Known Limitations

Automated tools find only part of the barriers people meet. We have not had the site or the app reviewed by people who use assistive technology, or by an expert manual review. Downloaded files, such as PDF reports and spreadsheets, are not covered by the checks above.
